Several months ago, I was excited our client had picked a gorgeous walnut slab for their dining room table. It finally arrived, dried to perfection. They selected the section they want to use and we took it to our friends at Real Door to use their massive drum sander (and four guys).
Now that we have it back in the shop, I am admiring all the beautiful figure in the wood.
Just one of those days that I love looking around at beautiful, natural things around us.
We built this bench from salvaged cedar for the Cherokee Lofts in Los Angeles. The lumber was sourced in Southern California, though I’m not sure they could have used it for their regional materials credit. We used Tung oil for the finish.
It hasn’t really felt like Summer yet, here in Los Angeles, but that hasn’t stopped people from thinking about Bar-B-Q’s and cooking outdoors. We completed these cabinets for a client in Malibu. They provided the wood, which they also used for decking. Though there are other exterior wood options than tropical species, this certainly does the trick and look beautiful.
